NEW SUMMER RELEASE
June 28, 2019
Get Down – Written and performed by DA Smart – This rap is a message to the industry: DA Smart is here, and he is taking over. Consider it a music industry coup d’état. His tongue is his gun, and his words cut like a two-edged sword. The time of The Black Terror is at hand, and he is taking no prisoners.
Walk Wit Me – Written and performed by DA Smart – this Chicago anthem was a call to the lost sheep – the gangs, the underrepresented, the forgotten and the unseen. This rap was written for and by the people because he is a man of the people. Positioning himself as your tour guide – DA takes you not on a tour of the Chicago advertised for the tourists, but of the real Chicago. The one he sees daily, and the one which he wants the world to be more aware.
Where My Mobs At – Written and performed by DA Smart – this rap is a call to action. A call to the lost sheep and the street soldiers. To unite them. To unite US. And to do this with the idea of protecting our communities and not allowing the police, or other outsiders, to come in and kill us. To empower, educate and encourage each other to protect our women and children with our might, our wisdom and our guns from our natural enemies.
Phuck Yo Couch – Written and performed by DA Smart – this rap is a message to the industry. The message was, and still is: It’s time to upend the status quo. It is time for a changing of the guard. The old industry rules no longer apply – and it is time for independent artists to take charge and do for us.
from our natural enemies.
